A 24-hour waiting period is recommended before beginning cleaning and disinfection. If 24 hours is not possible, a N95 mask is recommended.

Instruct renters to open windows and activate fans to ventilate the rental unit at least 30 or more minutes prior to vacating the unit (unless there are rental unit security, rain damage or related issues).

Use signs to instruct property users to leave out all used kitchen dishes, flatware, cookware, cooking utensils, cutlery and other washable items to ensure they are cleaned.

To minimize exposure to bedding, have the renter strip their beds and place bedding in the cloth laundry bag provided.
